Edmund Kemper was an American serial killer who murdered ten people between 1964 and 1973.

Standing over six feet nine inches tall with a high IQ, he became known as the Co-ed Killer.

Kemper began his crimes at age fifteen by shooting his grandparents.

He spent time in a psychiatric hospital before being released in 1969.

Between 1972 and 1973, he targeted young female college students who were hitchhiking in California.

He picked them up, drove them to isolated areas, killed them and violated their corpses.

His victims included Mary Ann Pesce, Anita Luchessa, Aiko Koo, Cindy Schall, Rosalind Thorpe and Alice Liu.

His final victims were his abusive mother Clarnell Strandberg and her friend Sara Hallett.

Kemper decapitated his mother, hid her head in a closet and used it for target practice.

He later called the police to confess.

A jury found him guilty of eight counts of first-degree murder in 1973 and a judge sentenced him to life in prison.
